Field Trips & Workshops

Out to Play offers field trips for classes Kindergarten to Grade 6. All programs follow the Forest and Nature School approach to learning, defined as child-centred, inquiry-driven, emergent learning and connecting through play on the land.

Urban Wild Space Trip

Location: Natural, green space within walking distance from your school.

Duration: 4 hours

Number of weeks: 1-6 weeks. Recurring weeks are recommended.

Description of a Day: Out to Play educators will meet your class at your school. They’ll lead your class out to a neighbouring forest within walking distance, and facilitate a Forest and Nature School experience in your neighbourhood including a land acknowledgement, storytelling, active outdoor play, a sit spot and a closing circle. Pedagogical documentation is provided after each program day.

Benefits: Save the cost of transportation! Get to know a green space that you can return to with your class.

Cost: $850.00 all included for up to 50 students. Subsequent sessions 5% discount.

Out to Play Field Trip

Location: Out to Play at Beetbox Farm, 230 Davidsons Side Road

Duration: 4 hours

Number of weeks: 1-6 weeks. Recurring weeks are recommended.

Description of a Day: Children gather at Out to Play for a fire circle before hiking out to a play space on the land. Play spaces include forest, field and farm locations with marsh and wet land exploration. Program days will include land acknowledgement, storytelling, active outdoor play, sit spots and closing circle. Pedagogical documentation is provided after each program day.

Cost: $800.00 all included for up to 50 students. Subsequent sessions 5% discount.
